this has not been the best weekend i have had in florence. in fact, it has been far from the best weekend i have had. it wasnt terrible, it was just not good. ahhhhhhhhhh! saturday night i got hit with a super super bad fever that put me in bed from late afternoon to dinner time. we went to my favorite pizza place for dinner, and i couldnt even eat. we went to my favorite gelato place after dinner, and i couldnt even get gelato. it was a sad night...
the venice trip was not much of a success either. ashley and her friend decided to spend the night last minute and i had to ride a sketch train home alone.
venice was ok. nothing spectacular. it was pretty, dont get me wrong, but i was bored with it after about 2 hours. we rode on a gondola and our drivers name was...FABIO. haha. we saw san marco church too and the square. other than that, we just walked around. it was fun, but i was as sick as a dog and ready to come home. i got on the first train back home, alone. and it was not a fun ride.
it was night time and i was riding a sketchy train. i bought a ticket to get to bologna, but didnt have enough money to buy a ticket home from bologna, so i had to sneak on the train. it was not fun. i had to stand in a gross bathroom while the conductor checked tickets for an hour. it was blah. but i made it safe and sound back to santa maria novella where sweet ryan met me to take me home. i got back and went to bed fairly early, still feeling pretty sick.
above all, this weekend was disappointing. i know i may be too sensitive at times, but i was pretty much ditched. my feelings and plans were pushed aside. so i am thankful that this weekend has ended...and im thankful for this new perspective i have on friendships.
