costumes. friends. and a feast!

thanksgiving was a success. tosay the least. it was so good, and the company was even better. we were all kind of sad that we weren't with family this year, but this family was just as good. never in my life will i be able to have another thanksgiving like this-or a thanksgiving without being with family for that matter. so we made sure thanksgiving counted.

to start thanksgiving day off, i went and got my hair cut. and when i say cut, i mean chopped. i wanted to step out of the box a little bit since i am here in italy, so thats what i did! i got bangs, which i havent had since like 4 years old. a haircut in italy entails also entails a head massage. that was the best part. i sat in the chair and clenched my fists for about 20 mins, not knowing if i was coming out of that chair with a
mohawk. good news, the haircut looks good. i love it.

we spent thanksgiving afternoon preparing for our feast to come. we made turkey hands and put together outfits for dinner. yes we dressed up. i was a Pilgrim, melissa and ash were indians, and christine was the turkey. it was so much fun. hilarious in fact.

the dinner was more than fine. (switchfoot reference) it was so good. we had EVERYTHING. and the guys made one killer turkey. thank the lord for such awesome guys on this trip...they have saved us many times. we all enjoyed the dinner like one little family, but after dinner found ourselves resting since none of us could breathe. we were wayyyy too stuffed.

one of our good friends that we made over here, who happens to be from UNC, was hosting an irish wake in rememberance of her dad, who passed away a year ago. so me and the roommates went to lyons fountain, an irish pub, to hang out with her and others from UNC. it was a good time-although we didnt stay long. turns out it was karyoke night...

christine, one of my roommates, is a rapper at heart. she started rapping for us about 1 month ago, and we had no idea that it was a hidden talent for her. she is REALLY GOOD. her favorite song to rap is changes by tupac. and she knows every word. so, at the pub, we asked her to rap it. and she did! it was so good. you should have seen the place. hands were in the air, and jaws were dropped since no one thought this little white girl would be able to rap it, especially without words. she even threw in the crip walk. the pub was jamming.

we got back to the apartment and changed in pj's...ready to settle down for the night. then chris, a friend from bentley, called and asked if we wanted to go dancing at space with a bunch of people. ashley, ryan and i jumped up and were there in no time to dance the night away!

thanksgiving night concluded at 5 am. i would say it was a pretty good turkey day. :)
